Bio:
Nate Rocco has an extensive academic career studying piano playing and music education. He has now played the piano for nearly 20 years of his life, and still works to improve daily. Along with piano studies, an early start at performing through church allowed him to develop comfortable singing and harmonica playing abilities. Nate chose to pursue a degree in music education, and along the way completed nearly every requirement for a jazz studies degree as well. Through the music education path, Nate developed his aural and theoretical knowledge, as well as his wind instrument skills, while never letting up on his technical study of the piano.
In recent years, Rocco has put this diverse musical experience to use composing his own original music and performing frequently in a variety of settings. He is an active church musician, occasional jazz pianist, lead singer and keyboardist for a rock band, The Flop Rocks, and on his way to directing a high school music program to inspire more musicians like himself. His work can most recently be heard on The Flop Rocks’ recent album, Impending FlopRockalypse. With all that, Nate is also a proud father to Charlotte Rocco, 5 years old.
Rocco is a musician that knows about the common struggles of real life people, but also has a deep, life-long obsession with making music. He has an admirable commitment to artistry and a passion that runs deep. Falling back onto music when in need of support has taught Nate what an incredible light and comfort it can be in people's lives. He has devoted his life to sharing and inspiring, because Nate believes in music.
Outside of music, Nate is an active, loving father, and enjoys gardening.
