Executive Director Chris Rice began his work with the Foundation in May of 2021 after serving the Lawton Community Schools for 30 years. The last 8 of those years, Chris served as the district's Superintendent. Chris' many years in educational leadership have given him a wide variety of experiences including the ability to use data to establish effective teams and systems.
Deputy Director Tom Richardson recently retired after over 20 years as the Administrator for Business Development and Partnerships at Van Buren Intermediate School District. Tom is a true champion for student health and wellness possessing a wealth of experience with a variety of whole child initiatives. He also has a passion for supporting organizational culture and climate initiatives.
Mr. Kevin Schooley is the retired Superintendent of South Haven Public Schools in Michigan and a former Principal and Superintendent with Watervliet Public Schools. A respected educational leader, he is known for his student-centered approach, commitment to teamwork, and strong community partnerships. Today, Mr. Schooley brings his experience and insight to the West Michigan Education Foundation, supporting districts through leadership consulting and strategic guidance.
Dr. Rusty Stitt joined the Foundation as a Consultant in April of 2022 after a long and successful career in school administration. Rusty brings a wealth of experience leading successful teams, providing executive coaching, and improving school culture. His innovative model for leading Superintendent Searches will help districts find and grow their next district leader.
