Students interact with residents and learn about the journey of their life experiencing homelessness that lead them to Project H.O.M.E. During the year, students donate items to support the residents’ various needs and have social gatherings (i.e., play bingo). The knowledge and insight gained from these experiences often result in advocacy.
Mercy Neighborhood Ministries After School Program
Please complete this permission form for your child to have the ability to participate in the Mercy Neighborhood after school program. 7th and 8th graders have the opportunity to prepare for and lead and arts and crafts activity during an after school program at Mercy Neighborhood Ministries on Wednesday afternoons. Students spend one week deciding on and preparing for an activity. The following week, they visit Mercy Neighborhood and lead this project. Faculty drive WMA students and they return around 5pm. Given seasonal commitments, it is no problem if students can't participate throughout the year
