AP Psychology
Introduction
This page is designed with resources for use in the AP Psychology research project. More research options are available at Badgerlink - but be sure to read through the database descriptions before you use them!
What to remember when completing Academic Research:
Use sources that are citable. Typically, resources inside of library databases are acceptable resources, just make sure you're using the right one! (Otherwise, you might not find much.)
Remember that you need to cite! So save everything, even if you're not sure you'll use it. Psychology research papers should make use of APA 7th Edition style. Remember, APA style uses in-text citations that use (Author Last Name(s), Publication Year) - this is different than what you have used in your English classes at WLHS.
A general rule of thumb is to make sure you are using research, or papers based on research, that is no older than 5-10 years. Exceptions can be made with good reason and purpose. Use the filtering options in the databases below to remove excessively old information.
Save citations with permalinks in a document so that you can go back and access those documents again!
Read the abstracts and the section headings of longer papers to see if they talk about what your assigned topic is. If they don't, skip the article and find something new.
Academic research is a process! Make sure you are giving yourself plenty of time to do it well, and do it right. Save everything--even if you don't think you'll use it! You never know if you might change your mind or find something new. If you get stuck, stop by the library and ask for help!
