Mrs. Papineau's

Sixth Grade Classroom

Welcome!

Hi! My name is Julie Papineau, and I am so excited to be joining the sixth grade team at WLIS this year! Here is a little information about me.

I grew up on the southside of Indianapolis (near Greenwood) and graduated from Perry Meridian High School. After high school, I moved to West Lafayette to attend Purdue University. Boiler Up! My husband and I got married shortly after graduation. He is an engineer and we were both offered  jobs here in town, and we have been here ever since.

For the past 14 years, I have taught at Murdock Elementary in the Lafayette School Corporation. My first two years, I was an intervention assistant and worked with lots of different grade levels. In 2011, I began teaching fourth grade and did that for 12 years. I had a wonderful experience at Murdock and made a lot of memories with my students and colleagues there.

My children began attending the WLCSC in 2021, and I have been very impressed with their educational experiences. I decided that this year would be a good time to make a change and was offered the opportunity to teach at WLIS. I already feel so welcomed by the WLIS community and am very excited for this new year!

When I'm not teaching, I LOVE to read. Audiobooks are my favorite form of reading because I can do lots of other things while listening to books. I also spend a lot of time with my friends and family. We play a lot of board games, go to movies and concerts, and spend time outdoors.

I look forward to getting to know your sixth grader this year.

Please feel free to email me anytime with questions!
