Hi! My name is Julie Papineau, and this is my third year on the sixth grade team at WLIS! Here is a little information about me.

I grew up on the southside of Indianapolis (near Greenwood) and graduated from Perry Meridian High School. After high school, I moved to West Lafayette to attend Purdue University. Boiler Up! My husband and I got married shortly after graduation. He is an engineer and we were both offered  jobs here in town, and we have been here ever since.

From 2009-2023, I taught at Murdock Elementary in the Lafayette School Corporation. My first two years, I was an intervention assistant and worked with lots of different grade levels. In 2011, I began teaching fourth grade and enjoyed that for 12 years. I had a wonderful experience at Murdock and made a lot of memories with my students and colleagues there.

In 2023, I decided to apply for a sixth grade opening here at WLIS! My children attend school in the WLCSC and being on different schedules was challenging. I was fortunate to be offered the job. I have now enjoyed two great years at WLIS. My students, teammates, and administrators are positive and fun to be around. I am excited for my third year this year!

When I'm not teaching, I LOVE to read. Audiobooks are my favorite form of reading because I can do lots of other things while listening to books. I also spend a lot of time with my friends and family. We play a lot of board games, go to movies and concerts, and spend time outdoors.
