For WJUSD students, this means you must earn a minimum of 2.0 in weighted total GPA OR be on track to graduate with good attendance (>90%)

For WJUSD students, this means you must get a C- or better in all high school history/social studies coursework
11th grade students will have completed World History & US History
12th grade students will also have completed Government

Students will examine a local issue by researching the concern, planning, and implementing action that works towards a solution.
After, students will present the following: (a) their knowledge of the role of government and/or advocacy groups related to their issue, (b) how they proposed to solve the problem, (c) actions taken to solve the problem and the outcomes.
Evidence: A presentation at the Civic Engagement Showcase in April.
WJUSD students will write a short self-reflection and be prepared to discuss it.
Evidence: Responses on the final application form
WJUSD students must obtain one or more recommendations from a peer, educator, mentor, official, or non-familial community member.
