Our School was built in 1941.
History
Wenzhen Elementary School was originally established as the Liaozi Branch of Madou Public School on March 3, 1918 (Taisho 7).
March 3, 1918 (Taisho 7, Republic Year 7):
The Liaozi Branch of Madou Public School borrowed the Liaozi District Chief's Office as its temporary classroom, with the private residence of District Chief Zheng Pin serving as the school facility.1921 (Taisho 10, Republic Year 10):
Upgraded to an independent school, renamed Liaozi Public School, located at Plot 364, Liaozi, near the border of Liaozi and Xizhuang, on the north bank of the Zengwen River. The first principal was Nakajima Seiei (中島青榮), a Japanese national.1923 (Taisho 12, Republic Year 12):
Downgraded back to a branch, renamed Liaozi Branch of Madou Public School.1941 (Showa 16, Republic Year 30):
Approved as an independent school again and renamed Madou East National School, with Hirai Takayuki (平井高行) as the principal. In August of the same year, the school was relocated from Liaozi to Madou Nanshe (the current school location).1945 (Showa 20, Republic Year 34):
After Japan's defeat in World War II, Principal Hirai Tokiji (平見時次) handed over the school leadership to Xie A-Dang (謝阿當) on November 29.1946 (Republic Year 35):
Renamed Madou Township Third National School.1947 (Republic Year 36):
Temporarily renamed Madou Township Nanshe National School (after its location), but soon reverted to Madou East National School.April 1, 1953 (Republic Year 42):
Renamed Madou Township Wenzhen National School, with Chen Da-Dao (陳達道) as the principal.January 1, 1958 (Republic Year 47):
Approved to establish a kindergarten class in Liaozi Village.September 1, 1962 (Republic Year 51):

Renamed Tainan City Madou District Wenzhen Elementary School following the merger of Tainan County and Tainan City into a direct-controlled municipality.July 2013 (Republic Year 102):
