West Islip School Counseling Mission Statement

The West Islip Counseling Department is committed to creating a safe and positive environment, where students will receive academic, social, and emotional support to foster their abilities to achieve their highest potential. West Islip School Counselors promote lifelong success by implementing strategies to enhance academic growth, healthy decision-making, and personal and career achievements. School Counselors support students in developing awareness and sensitivity of individual differences to become interconnected within the global community.

West Islip School Counseling Vision Statement

All students in West Islip will be empowered to reach their maximum potential by using a comprehensive developmental counseling program that addresses each student’s academic, career, and social-emotional goals. School counselors in West Islip will promote a learning environment that is rich in opportunity, accessible to all, encourages civic responsibility, and fosters a lifelong quest for learning and personal growth. Our school counselors believe that all students will be successful through the strength of our home/school/community partnership.
