The cross country team had its first race of the season against West Babylon, one of the toughest opponents on the schedule. Leading the way for the Lions was Alex Gianna, finishing second overall with Jack Rogler close behind in 3rd. The scoring group was rounded out by Liam McKendry, Patrick Mercorella, and Morgan Grover who finished 8th, 9th, and 11th respectively. All the athletes raced well for their first meet at Belmont, but unfortunately the team lost 23 to 33. On the girl's side, Natalie Stasik competed well with a strong West Babylon team in her debut cross country race. The team returns to Belmont next week for the second meet against Copiague. Great job everyone!
The Udall Boys Soccer Team started off their new season with a convincing 2-0 victory away against Amityville. With goals from Sebastian Puleo and Robbie Franco. The defense kept our opponents goalless with stand-out performances from Kristopher Camacho, Brody Degere, and Ronal Z.
The Udall field hockey team had their season opener against Lindenhurst yesterday. The team worked together and played with heart to get the victory. Scoring for the Lions was Lila Grim, Vanessa Sutkowski, and Giuliette Fileti with 2 goals each, Lilah Kelskey, Mya Curuchaga and Gwen Dieckmann scoring a tally each for the final score of 9-0. Way to go Girls!
The West Islip Varsity gymnastics team competed against Copiague on Tuesday, September 16th. West Islip won, scoring a 159.175. Zoey Richardelli and Kate O’Regan helped the team to victory, contributing to the total scores on vault, balance beam and floor exercise. Kate placed second on vault with a 7.825. Zoey placed third on floor exercise scoring a 8.675. Way to start off the season strong! Our next competition is away at East Islip on September 25th.

6th Grade morning Intramurals begins tomorrow at 7:10 am. The program runs on Tuesdays through Fridays. Students will need a ride to school and parents should park by the gym until the doors open at 7:10 am. Permissions slips can be picked up from your physical education teacher. Students must have a permission slip to play.
