Welcome Letter

  August 2024

Dear 3rd Grader and family,

       Welcome to 3rd grade!  We are excited to tell you that we are your new teachers.  We don’t know about you, but we can’t believe summer is over and we are talking about things like teachers, supplies and bus stops already.  

We hope you had a great summer. We were each busy enjoying Long Island and all it has to offer for the summer with our families.  We have been reading some books with our kids this summer and  hope you have been too.  

We can’t wait to meet you on our first day together.  Be sure to bring a snack and a water bottle along with whichever supplies you can carry.  If it is too much for you to carry all in one day, don’t worry…just bring a little at a time.  

We can’t wait to explore new topics with you and create some great memories.  It is going to be a fantastic year!  If you or your family have any questions or would like to tell us anything special that we should know, feel free to email either of us (a.staak@wi.k12.ny.us or a.rush@wi.k12.ny.us) and we will get back to you when we get back to school.
