The goal of this project is to analyze the effectiveness of the Spin Launch system at a small scale. Then, make two unique iterations to the current design in an attempt to improve the efficiency of the launch system.
My plan is to start purely mathematical and theoretical with designing the mechanism. As the design must be extremely rigid and lightweight, material choice is crucial here. With a good understanding of the mechanics, I will be using basic equations and simulations to test designs before ever manufacturing.
Once happy, I'll then begin to make the real parts. This will be a combination of 3D printed to prototype, and machined parts for the final build.
I have set a starting goal that I will design the unaltered design to reach, then I have set another goal for the altered version to reach. Ideally we will see some general improvements to the mechanism.
