This year is going to be new and exciting for all of us. Each student will be given a speech folder that will include important information, paper assignments, schedules and codes for computer based learning experiences. This information will be individualized in accordance with his or her IEP. When students are not in school, they are still required to attend speech language classes at their scheduled time slot. The students will be taught their schedule, have it in their folder and will join meets using an individualized code. When students are in school, they will be participating live in the speech language room. The classroom may look a little different than in previous years with our updated desk set up and safety/ sanitation procedures but I have no doubt that we will have a welcoming and enriching learning environment. Enthusiasm and love of learning were always the best components to the classroom anyway...that remains constant.

Here is where our partnership will be very important. On home days, students are going to need to log onto their grade level google classroom (their classroom teacher's google classroom).

1. While logged onto their grade level classroom using their google chrome notebook or ipad, there is an option called google meet...click on it.

2. Click Use a meeting code.

3. Enter the code and click Continue. (I will have this code written in their speech folder and I will also put it in their agenda)

4. Click Ask to join.

5. I will permit you to join it.

6. Therapy will be conducted virtually on days students are not physically present in school using the same schedule as when they are in school. I ask that when students are at home they are prepared with their folder, are sitting in a chair in their learning area and are wearing earphones for optimal hearing and privacy of group conversations.

I want to thank you in advance for your support during these changing times. I feel more than ever will will be working as a team to provide important goal based instruction. Together, I know we are going to have a great year.
