MEET MS. POLLACK
hello there!
Dear Families,
Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! My name is Sara Pollack and I am very excited to be your child's teacher. I hope that you all had an enjoyable and productive summer vacation. We have a big year ahead of us as we all prepare for the start of 2nd grade. I have planned a wonderful year full of interactive activities and experiences that I cannot wait to share with you.
Let me start by telling you a little bit about myself. This will be my first year teaching 2nd grade at Manetuck Elementary School. Before joining the staff at Manetuck, I worked at Lido Elementary School in Long Beach. I taught 2nd grade, SPIRIT (Specialized Program Integrating Research, International-Mindedness, and Technology) and 1st grade. I am eager to bring all of my teaching experiences into our classroom! I have the CUTEST mini golden doodle named Willow. She is 2.5 years old and she is my everything! ♡
Throughout the school year, we will be active and engaged learners as we study a variety of interesting topics across all subject areas. I believe that it is important to understand the needs of each child and provide appropriate instruction accordingly. Equally important, is recognizing social-emotional learning and acts of kindness in our classroom community.
Here are some procedures in second grade:
Please send in one healthy snack for your child every day. Our classroom is NUT FREE, CHERRY FREE and KIWI FREE.
You can send in a water bottle for your child to drink throughout the day. Please fill with water only.
Your child will bring home their Take Home Folder each day with important notices and classwork. Please check these daily and return them the following school day.
A note must be written when your child has any changes to his/her dismissal from school.
Please feel free to contact me at any time with questions, concerns or fun stories about your child. Keeping an open line of communication between home and school will allow us to work together and enjoy a productive school year. Thank you for your support and I look forward to meeting you at Back to School Night!
Educationally yours,
Ms. Pollack
