What is Introduction Forensics I?


Course Description: Forensics is a one-semester course that focuses on the study of how science is used to solve crimes and is applied to criminal and civil laws. The course will emphasize the use of the scientific method by law enforcement agencies in examining evidence and solving crimes. Concepts in Biology, Chemistry, and Earth Science will be incorporated into this interdisciplinary science course.

Current research in the application of DNA technology will be discussed as well. Literature, in the form of case studies and historical accounts, will also be included.

Students will participate in laboratory work on a regular basis in their attempt to “solve a crime!”
