Always feel free to write me an e-mail, as it is the quickest way for me to respond. However I truly understand how messages can become misread and a phone call would be better. In that case, it is best to set up a time that works for us both to continue the conversation. Hello and Welcome!
My name is Deanna Johnson and I am so excited to be your child's teacher! I am West Islip Alumni and graduated 20 years ago in 2003. I have been a Special Education Teacher for over 10 years. I absolutely love teaching students and all the while learning from them as well. I cannot wait to continue to enhance your child's education and continue to build on what they already know. Here are some fun facts about myself:
I have 3 sons - Colin is my 14 year old step-son, Nolan is my 7 year old and Landon is my 4 year old.
My favorite season is fall! I love the pretty colors, the scent of cinnamon, the touch of a cool breeze and apples!
I have one pet, we rescued him from North Short Animal League. He is a dog and his name is Rocky.
My favorite color is blue.
My favorite candy is a Kit Kat Bar or Twizzlers - depends on the day!
Strawberries are my favorite fruit.
String beans are my favorite vegetable.
My birthday is June 12th.
I love spending time with my family and singing as much as possible!
I love sports: watching & playing them! **BONUS** Did you know I played boys lacrosse before they had girls lacrosse? I was long stick defense! And yes I wore all the heavy protective gear. I loved it! But that feels ages ago!
My teams I support mostly are: NY GIANTS AND NY YANKEES! But I would support the Mets and Jets always! Even the Bills!
