There is a major problem in which a match is found for a certain organ but there is no way for it to get there. This leads to complications, huge hospital bills, and deaths. A very effective way to work around this would be to develop a sustainable way to keep the organ alive during transport. This is the problem my partner and I are trying to solve. We have to make a box that mimics the conditions of a human body. As we have no access to a real kidney, we will use an anatomically correct model in order to run our tests and measure outputs. This idea was given to us because of the only other documented case of this being done, which is a heart in a box.
