Dear First Grade Families,

Hello and welcome! Our names are Ms. Gillespie and Mrs. Hergerton.

Ms. Gillespie: I was the permanent substitute teacher at Bayview for the past 2 ½ years and student taught here during my undergrad. Teaching has always been my passion, and I am so excited to continue my teaching journey in West Islip.

Here are a few things about me:) When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love going to the beach, going to Mets, Islanders, and/or Jets games, traveling, listening to music, bike riding, doing puzzles or painting by numbers, and jet skiing. 

Mrs. Hergerton: I have been a special education teacher in West Islip for 28 years.  I have taught resource room, special class and integrated class with students from kindergarten through 12th grade. I look forward to each school year and the opportunity to meet and work with a new group of wonderful students! My interests include bike riding, walking, tennis, volleyball, boating and going to concerts.
