Dear Parents,
You recently received information regarding registering for Seesaw. Seesaw is a platform for student engagement. Students “show what they know” using photos, videos, drawings, text, PDFs, and links. It's simple to get student work in one place and share with families, and nothing is shared without teacher approval. In Seesaw we will periodically post messages for our students to listen to and perhaps respond to. This will be the means we will use to interact/connect with our students.
In Seesaw we have the option to monitor and comment on the work our students are submitting. Likewise, we can and will monitor usage on Raz-Kids and Reflex math. Please encourage your child to complete the assignments we have shared.
See the links (and assigned activity) below for helpful information on how to navigate using Seesaw. Students will have assignments using Seesaw beginning on Monday, April 6, 2020. You may find viewing these video links helpful before using the platform on Monday, for both you and your child. Please feel free to watch other YouTube videos on how to use Seesaw as needed. The activity will be posted on Seesaw and ready to be completed on Saturday morning (4/4).

When your child has an assignment in Seesaw that assignment can be found by clicking on the assignment tab. Your child must log into Seesaw to complete the weekly assignments.
One of the assignments in Seesaw under activities is a tutorial titled “Introduction to Seesaw Tools”. Sign into your Seesaw account and find this assignment under activities. We recommend that you complete this activity prior to the other assignments to familiarize you and your child with this learning platform.
Again, we are all learning how to use these resources together. Manage your expectations and reach out to your child’s teacher if you have any questions. Good luck! :)
Respectfully,
The Oquenock First Grade Teachers
