A quick reminder for students who ride bicycles to school: Please use sidewalks whenever possible, look carefully before crossing into the parking lot, and walk your bike once you enter school grounds. Be sure to secure your bike to the bike rack with a lock. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe!

Student Council will have its first meeting Friday morning, 7:30am in Room 202. This is a very important meeting for those who want to run for office or just get involved in all of our school events. All grades are welcome.

On September 8th 2026, the West Islip Varsity Gymnastics team competed against William Floyd in their first non-league competition. WI won with a total team score of 167.9 to 158.9. Incredible job, girls! Our next meet is our “squad meet” which will be at the high schools upper gym, this Friday, on 9/11 starting at 4pm. Come support WIVG! 

Reminder that today is our grade level assemblies. Teachers please take attendance and wait for announcement to bring your classes to the auditorium.

Attention any girls trying out for soccer:  There will be an important meeting with Coach Reilly after school TODAY in the gym immediately after school until 3:15 about tryouts and the season.  Please be sure to attend. 

There will be a brief meeting, 9/3, after school at 2:45 PM in the gymnasium for any girls interested in trying out for field hockey. 

7th and 8th Grade students planning on going out for the Beach Street Football team, we will be holding our first practice tomorrow, September 4th at 4:00 PM.  Practice will be held at Beach Street on our practice field located just off the parking lot in the rear of the school.  Please check your emails and final forms for important team information.  Coaches Luvera and Osburn look forward to seeing you.   

We will have a cross-country meeting immediately after school Thursday (today) in the gymnasium.
