INDOOR MAPPING
In my previous internship position at the GIS Center of Western Illinois University, I played a crucial role in the indoor mapping project. This project is a collaborative effort with the 911 emergency response services and involves partnerships with numerous high schools across approximately 70% of Illinois counties. Our focus is on utilizing advanced GIS technology for indoor mapping, which serves as a powerful tool for decision-making, environmental sustainability, and overall protection.
I was an integral part of the team that started a project called the Digital Atlas of Illinois, which aims to create a comprehensive platform encompassing various aspects of human, physical, cultural, census, and historical geography. This project seeks to consolidate and provide unified access to all relevant information about the state of Illinois on a single platform. This initiative will facilitate easy access to comprehensive data and enable a better understanding of the diverse geographic aspects of Illinois.
