Bonnie Austin is a rising freshman at Central High School and is excited to make her theatrical debut in The Wizard of Oz. Bonnie will appear as an Ozian and member of the Girls Chorus. Outside of theatre, she enjoys spending time outdoors and making memories with family and friends. Bonnie would like to thank her family for encouraging her to step outside her comfort zone and try something new.

Jack Austin is a student at Central High School and is excited to join the technical crew for this summer’s production of The Wizard of Oz. Although this is his first theatre experience, he is enjoying learning the behind-the-scenes aspects of production. In his free time, Jack enjoys gaming and taking naps. He would like to thank his mom for her continued support and encouragement.

Addie Ayers is a rising freshman at Eastside High School and is thrilled to be dancing her way through The Wizard of Oz. This past year, she was honored to be part of Eastside High School’s award-winning production of The Trench and has expanded her theatrical experience, earning state honors in Humorous Interpretation with EHS Speech. Addie has also been featured as Lead Dancer in James and the Giant Peach and Big Fish. She is grateful for the opportunity to perform alongside such a talented cast.

Bristol Ayers is a rising sixth grader at Coeburn Middle School with a passion for dance and theatre. She is excited to portray Nikko and a Munchkin in The Wizard of Oz. Her previous credits include Girl with the Orange Cat in Big Fish, Bette Healy in Annie Jr., and Sven in Frozen Kids. Bristol loves every opportunity to perform and is thankful for the support of her family and friends.

Hannah Balthis is a rising junior at Union High School and will portray Crow, Attacked Winkie, and Poppie in The Wizard of Oz. This is Hannah’s second theatrical production, following her role as a lead dancer in SpongeBob the Musical. In addition to theatre, she is an active member of the Union High School Marching Band, where she plays the flute. Hannah is excited to be part of this year’s production.

Rylee Bentley is a rising freshman at Central High School and is excited to appear as an Ozian and member of the Girls Chorus in The Wizard of Oz. She has previously participated in two productions through her church and enjoys reading and supporting her younger brother at baseball games. Rylee would like to thank her family, especially her dad, for encouraging her to pursue her dreams.

Abigail Blevins is a rising seventh grader at Coeburn Middle School. She has participated in school plays and is excited to take part in the WCPS Summer Arts Academy for the first time. Abigail enjoys cheering and learning more about theatre. She would like to thank her parents for supporting her in all of her dreams.

Aiden Bowman is a rising sophomore at Union High School and is a member of the UHS One Act and Speech teams, as well as the drama club. He has spent the past two summers with Pro Arts Camp Create, where he portrayed Mr. Wormwood in Matilda the Musical Jr. and Shrek in Shrek the Musical Jr. Last year, he performed with the WCPS Summer Performing Arts Academy as Earthworm in James and the Giant Peach. His previous theatre credits at Union High School include Sebastian in The Little Mermaid and SpongeBob in The SpongeBob Musical. Aiden is excited to portray Hunk and the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz and hopes audiences enjoy the show.

Lydia Bowman is a rising sixth grader at Union Middle School and has eight years of dance experience with Angela Tepton Dance Studio. Her performance experience includes Shrek Jr., Matilda, James and the Giant Peach, and Frozen Jr. Lydia enjoys spending time with friends, swimming, and cheering. She would like to thank her family for their love and support in all of her dreams.

Kassity Brummit is a rising sixth grader at L. F. Addington Middle School and is excited to perform as a Winkie and Poppie in The Wizard of Oz. Her first stage experience was in James and the Giant Peach. Kassity enjoys drawing, reading, and spending time with friends. She would like to thank her cat, Sansa, for always providing comfort and support.

Ireland Burke is a rising freshman at Eastside High School and is excited to portray the Winkies’ General and Poppie in The Wizard of Oz. Ireland has been involved in theatre since eighth grade and has previously appeared in James and the Giant Peach and Big Fish. When she is not on stage, Ireland enjoys reading, painting, and listening to music. She is thrilled to be part of this year’s production.

Jaxon Burke is a rising eighth grader at St. Paul Elementary School and is providing technical support for The Wizard of Oz. Jaxon previously performed in James and the Giant Peach and was a member of the technical crew for Big Fish. He enjoys learning about space, building with Legos, and climbing. Jaxon is excited to be part of this production and hopes you enjoy the show.

Chloe Butler is a student at Wise Primary School and is excited to spend her first summer with the WCPS Summer Arts Academy.  Her previous theatre experience includes Elf Jr., Shrek Jr., and Frozen Kids.  Chloe is excited to portray a Winkie and Poppie in The Wizard of Oz and looks forward to sharing the stage with her fellow cast members.

Emma Clifton is a student at Wise Primary School and is excited to portray Tot and a Flying Monkey in The Wizard of Oz. This marks Emma’s third theatrical production. Her previous performance credits include Shrek and Gather Performance. Outside of theatre, Emma enjoys gymnastics and spending time with friends. Nathan Cloud is a rising junior at Eastside High School and is honored to portray Zeke and the Lion in The Wizard of Oz. Nathan previously worked as a lighting technician for Eastside’s One Act production of Les Enfants Terribles and is a state award-winning actor. His favorite roles include Lord Farquaad in Shrek the Musical, Captain Phoebus in The Hunchback of Notre Dame, C.C. Showers in The Diviners, Beetlejuice in Beetlejuice Jr., Bert in The Trench, and Edward Bloom in Big Fish. Nathan is grateful for the opportunity to participate in the WCPS Summer Arts Academy and hopes you enjoy the performance.

Hannah Coffey is a rising junior at Eastside High School and is thrilled to return to the WCPS Summer Performing Arts Academy for her fifth summer production, portraying Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. With more than a decade of performance experience, Hannah has brought many memorable characters to life on stage. Some of her favorite roles include Squidward in The SpongeBob Musical, Sponge in James and the Giant Peach, and Sandra Bloom in Big Fish. Hannah is a member of Eastside High School’s One Act and Speech teams, where she has earned multiple acting awards and state titles. Cash Engle is a rising freshman at Eastside High School and is excited to join the technical crew for The Wizard of Oz. After appearing on stage in productions such as The Addams Family, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, James and the Giant Peach, Elf Jr., and Big Fish. Cash is enjoying the opportunity to experience theatre from a new perspective. Outside of theatre, he enjoys swimming, listening to and creating music, and spending time with friends. Vivian Ervin is a rising sixth grader at L. F. Addington Middle School and is excited to portray an Ozian and Munchkin in The Wizard of Oz. Her previous theatre credits include Puffer Fish in Finding Nemo, Lavender in Matilda the Musical Jr., and Little Red Riding Hood in Shrek the Musical Jr.. London Forester is a rising seventh grader at Union Middle School and is excited to make her debut with the WCPS Summer Arts Academy as a Winkie and Poppie in The Wizard of Oz. Anna Gundlack is a rising fifth grader at Wise Primary School and is excited to portray a Winkie and Poppie in The Wizard of Oz. Anna has participated in several school productions and enjoys drawing, singing, crocheting, and learning to knit. Hannah Hampton is a rising senior at Union High School and an active member of both the One Act and Speech teams. She also serves as drum major for the Union High School Marching Band. This is Hannah’s third year performing in a musical. Her previous theatre credits include an Orphan in Annie, a Maid in The Little Mermaid, and Mr. Krabs in The SpongeBob Musical. Caysen Hill is a rising junior at Union High School and has been a member of her school’s One Act and Speech teams for the past three years. She earned third place at the state competition in Prose Interpretation and has participated in the WCPS Summer Arts Academy since sixth grade. Some of her favorite productions include James and the Giant Peach, The Little Mermaid, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Caysen is thrilled to portray a Lead Dancer and Crow in The Wizard of Oz.

Lydia has appeared in numerous productions, including The Addams Family, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Shrek Jr. Outside of theatre, she enjoys attending 4-H camp, swimming, and playing tennis. Madison Howard is a rising freshman at Central High School and is excited to make her theatrical debut as an Ozian and Munchkin in The Wizard of Oz. Madison has always loved theatre and has enjoyed learning about the work and dedication that go into bringing a production to life. Leighanna Jessee is a rising eighth grader at L. F. Addington Middle School and is excited to portray Braggart and Ozian in The Wizard of Oz. Her previous theatre experience includes portraying Anna in Frozen Jr. Outside of theatre, Leighanna enjoys roller skating, swimming, and styling hair. She would like to thank her Uncle Andrew for introducing her to the stage and encouraging her love of performing.

Aubrey Johnson is a rising sophomore at Eastside High School and has been performing since fifth grade. A member of Eastside’s state championship One Act and Speech teams, Aubrey has earned multiple state titles and awards. Some of her favorite roles include Gingy in Shrek the Musical and Spider in James and the Giant Peach. Aubrey is thrilled to portray Glinda in The Wizard of Oz.

Nolan Johnson is a rising seventh grader at St. Paul Elementary School and is excited to portray the Mayor, Fiddler, and an Ozian in The Wizard of Oz. His recent theatre credits include Young Will in Big Fish, Rooster in Annie Jr., and the Duke of Weselton in Frozen Jr. Nolan enjoys singing, pickleball, and all things theatre. He would like to express his heartfelt gratitude to his parents, Nana, Papaw, and his brother Henry for their love and support.

Adaleigh Kilgore is a rising freshman at Central High School and is excited to portray an Ozian and perform with the Girls Chorus in The Wizard of Oz. Although this is her first theatrical production, Adaleigh has always had a passion for singing and the arts. When she is not rehearsing, she enjoys spending time outdoors and reading. Adaleigh is grateful to her family and friends for encouraging her to step outside her comfort zone and be part of this production.

Kinley Kite is a rising seventh grader at St. Paul Elementary School and is excited to portray Tot and a Flying Monkey in The Wizard of Oz. This is Kinley’s first theatrical production, and she is enjoying every moment of the experience. Outside of theatre, she enjoys softball, volleyball, and dance. Kinley would like to thank her sister, Alexis, for introducing her to the world of theatre and encouraging her to participate.

Piper Lane is excited to serve on the technical crew for The Wizard of Oz. Piper has been involved in theatre since sixth grade and enjoys learning about the many aspects of production behind the scenes. Her previous theatre experiences include Lafayette No. 1 and Action News: Now with 10% More Action. Outside of theatre, Piper enjoys playing soccer. She would like to thank her friends and family for their continued encouragement and support.

Rylee Lane is a rising seventh grader at Union Middle School and is excited to make her stage debut as an Attacked Winkie and Poppie in The Wizard of Oz. Although this is her first acting role, Rylee has always enjoyed musicals and is thrilled to be part of this year’s summer production. She can often be found in the art or history classrooms. Sophia Lawson is a rising eighth grader at St. Paul Elementary School and will portray an Ozian, Tough Gal, and member of the Girls Chorus in The Wizard of Oz. Sophia has previously performed in James and the Giant Peach, Annie Jr., and Seussical the Musical. She enjoys singing, drawing, and reading. Natalie Luther is part of the technical crew for The Wizard of Oz. She has experience in acting, technical theatre, decorating, and prop construction, and has been involved in theatre since fifth grade. Natalie enjoys art, sketching, and listening to music. Alex May is a rising sophomore at Union High School and is excited to portray Uncle Henry and a Guard in The Wizard of Oz. Alex began performing in the fall of 2025 as a member of the UHS One Act and Speech teams. His first musical role was Patrick Star in SpongeBob the Musical. He is also a member of the UHS Marching Band and has participated in All-County Band as a trumpet player. Alex has discovered a passion for performing and looks forward to many more opportunities in the arts.

Taylor May is a student at Union Primary School and is excited to make her debut in musical theatre with The Wizard of Oz. She enjoys playing outside, playing basketball and softball, swimming, and watching YouTube. Taylor would like to thank her family for allowing her to participate in this summer arts program.

Avery Melott is a student at Union Primary School and is excited to be part of The Wizard of Oz. She has previously performed in Finding Nemo, Matilda, and Shrek Jr. Avery enjoys gymnastics, singing, and dancing, and hopes to become a songwriter in the future. Addi Mullins is a rising junior at Union High School and is excited to portray Professor Marvel and The Wizard in The Wizard of Oz. She has been involved in the performing arts for several years and has been a member of the UHS Drama Club since eighth grade. Addi also participates in choir and color guard. She has received an Outstanding Actor Award for her performance in The Price and is the 2026 2A Storytelling State Champion. Addi is excited to spend her first summer with the WCPS Summer Arts Academy.

Cheyenne Mullins is a rising senior at Eastside High School and is excited to be part of the technical team for The Wizard of Oz. She recently earned a state championship in One Act as a member of The Trench. Her favorite role to date was Lead Dancer in James and the Giant Peach. Katie Mullins is a rising senior at Union High School and is in her third year of theatre. She has participated in Union’s One Act and Speech teams as well as the Union High School Marching Band. Her previous theatre credits include Ensemble in Annie, Flat Sam and Atina in The Little Mermaid, Perch Perkins in SpongeBob the Musical, and Chorus in James and the Giant Peach. Katie will portray Hickory and the Tinman in her final production with the Wise County Summer Arts program and hopes you enjoy the show.

Samantha Mullins is a rising sophomore at Eastside High School and has been involved in theatre since seventh grade. Some of her favorite roles include Lead Dancer in James and the Giant Peach, Wife Puppeteer in The Trench, and roles in Beetlejuice Jr. and Death by Toaster. Scarlett Necessary is a student at Wise Primary School and is excited to make her stage debut as a Winkie and Poppie in The Wizard of Oz. She enjoys painting, volleyball, and pottery. Scarlette would like to thank her parents for supporting her in her first theatre experience.

Gracie Norris is a rising seventh grader at St. Paul Elementary School and enjoys participating in theatre. She previously appeared in The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Gracie enjoys dancing, spending time with her cats, and baking with her dad. She would like to thank her parents for supporting her dreams.

Kristopher Oliver is a rising senior at Eastside High School and is excited to perform as a Winkie and Poppie in The Wizard of Oz. His previous theatre credits include SpongeBob the Musical, The Addams Family, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, James and the Giant Peach, Beetlejuice Jr., and various One Act productions. Kristopher enjoys playing Xbox, spending time with friends, and attending church camp. He would like to thank his mother, Mr. and Mrs. Burke, Ms. Merchant, and Ms. Angel for their support and this opportunity.

Keaton Peak is an incoming freshman at Eastside High School and is excited to join the technical crew for The Wizard of Oz. He is interested in the construction and electrical aspects of technical theatre. Although this is his first experience in stage production, he is eager to learn and grow. Keaton looks forward to future opportunities with Mr. Burke and Ms. Heather.

Ellie Rich is a rising sixth grader at Union Middle School and has participated in several productions including Shrek Jr., Frozen Jr., and SpongeBob the Musical. She enjoys playing with her dogs and spending time outdoors. Ellie hopes to continue acting in the future and would like to thank her family and friends for their constant support.

Brylee Richardson is a rising freshman at Union High School and is a member of the Union Theatre Team. She previously portrayed Elena in the One Act production The Price and Pearl Krabs in SpongeBob the Musical. Brylee is excited to portray a Lead Dancer and Tree in The Wizard of Oz this summer.

Everyn Rutherford is a rising sophomore at Union High School and has been passionate about theatre from a young age. She brings extensive performance experience, including ten years of dance training with Angela Tipton’s Academy of Performing Arts. Everyn is also a member of the Union High School Choir, where she has participated for the past four years. Her notable roles include Viola in Twelfth Night, or What You Will, Farquaad in Shrek the Musical Jr., and Squidward in SpongeBob the Musical. Everyn is excited and honored to portray Miss Gulch and the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz.

Kaydence Sexton is an upcoming sixth grader at L. F. Addington Middle School and is excited to perform as a Winkie and Poppie in The Wizard of Oz. Her previous theatre experience includes portraying the Woodland Pixie in Shrek. Kaydence enjoys drawing, playing guitar, and singing. She would like to thank Ashland for their support and encouragement in her theatre journey.

Penelope Sturgill is a rising eighth grader at Union Middle School whose creativity, curiosity, and love for the arts shine on stage. She serves as a Lead Dancer and Tree in this production of The Wizard of Oz. Known for bringing energy, sass, and confidence to every role, her previous credits include Adela in The Little Mermaid, solo roles in James and the Giant Peach, The Three Little Pigs, Shrek Jr., storyteller in Frozen Kids, and Electric Skate in SpongeBob the Musical. Penelope is thrilled to share the stage with this cast and hopes audiences enjoy the journey down the yellow brick road.

Isabelle Venable is a rising eighth grader at Coeburn Middle School and is excited to portray a Munchkin and Ozian in The Wizard of Oz.  Her previous theatre credits include Ensemble in The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Ms. Margaret and Tourist in Lafayette No. 1, and Ensemble in The Addams Family.  Outside of theatre Isabelle enjoys drawing, acting, and catching up on sleep.  She would like to thank her mother and her cousin, Kylie, for their love, encouragement, and support.

Madelyn Ventro is a rising sophomore at Eastside High School and is excited to make her stage debut as an Ozian and Munchkin in The Wizard of Oz. Outside of rehearsals, she can often be found at the dance studio or attending competitions. Madelyn would like to thank her parents for their encouragement and support in helping her try new experiences.

Noelle Wells is a rising senior at Union High School and has been involved in the performing arts throughout her high school career.  In 2022, she made school history as the first Union Middle School student to participate in both Union High School’s One Act and Forensics teams.  Some of her favorite roles include Scuttle in Disney’s The Little Mermaid, the title character in Mother Hicks, Ensemble in The Price, and the Mayor in SpongeBob the Musical.  Noelle is excited to continue her theatrical journey this summer and is thrilled to be part of The Wizard of Oz.

Sunshine Wilson is a rising junior at Union High School and is excited to portray Aunt Em, the Coroner, and a Tree in The Wizard of Oz. Her previous theatre credits include Sandy Cheeks in The SpongeBob Musical, Flounder in The Little Mermaid, a Gargoyle in The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Mama Bear (Fiona understudy) in Shrek Jr. When she is not on stage, Sunshine enjoys singing in the UHS Choir, competing in district events, and recently was honored to join the 2025 Virginia Tech Honor Choir. She is thrilled to be part of this production and hopes audiences enjoy the show.

Mable is delighted to make her theatrical debut as Toto in The Wizard of Oz. At just one year old, this talented toy schnauzer enjoys barking at nothing in particular, stealing shoes, demanding treats, and confidently stealing every scene she enters. Mable is the proud “doghter” of Kyleigh Harmon and enjoys naps, car rides, and being the center of attention. She would like to thank the cast and crew for recognizing her natural talent and hopes audiences enjoy the show almost as much as she enjoys applause and animal cracker cookies.
