Students may use computers and cell phones, but that doesn't mean they understand basic uses, best practices, and safety risks.  There is a need for students to develop their digital literacy skills.  

Teaching digital literacy skills ensures compliance with the Texas Technology Application-TEKS requirements and helps prepare students for success. 

 Learning.com is a state-adopted online curriculum that provides 100% coverage of the Technology Application TEKS.  

Learning.com is the district-adopted high-quality instructional resource for Technology Application TEKS.  

Implementation plan varies by campus resources.  Options for each campus to consider:

• Computer lab- run by tech lab manager

• Classroom

  • • • Campus/teacher sets a dedicated day/time once a week for 30-45 minutes

      • Teacher adds Learning.com as a station activity. 

Goals for 2024-2025

1. Digital Citizenship CIPA Compliance

• 80% of students at your campus complete CIPA Compliance digital citizenship lessons.  

• Track CIPA Compliance data at your campus.  Create a data poster in your classroom space. 

2. Class Time

• 50% of time students are on Tech Quest

• 50% of times students are learning Typing

• Run reports on typing speed per minute and accuracy.  Create data posters that show how students are improving. 

3. Classroom Teachers

• Please share with your teachers that Learning.com can be used in their classrooms, too!  Students can work on their tech skills or typing skills.  Opportunities can be for grade levels you don't service, or when the teacher has 5-10 minutes to fill, as a center activity.
