6th Grade: Viewpoints
Sixth-grade students studied physical
properties, locations, and movements of our solar system’s
planets, asteroids, meteors, and comets in an interdisciplinary unit, Terrestrial Real Estate. They explored locations of various bodies in the solar system, searched for hospitable locations in the solar system, and created persuasive essays that were used in a multimedia advertising campaign to sell real estate on locations in the solar system.

7th Grade: Environmental Impacts
Seventh-grade students will studied catastrophic events, their causes, and impacts on various ecosystems. They explored the frequency of events, movement of tectonic plates, formation of landforms, impact of weather, and other potential causes. Students selected a catastrophic event and used a medium of their choice to produce a presentation.

8th Grade: Careers
Eighth-grade students explored various modes of critical and creative thinking in order to employ a broad in-depth analysis of evidence to make decisions and communicate beliefs clearly and accurately. Students examined a career of their choice and the educational and experiential paths necessary to access that career. Based on their research, they decided whether or not that was a career they would like to pursue.
