Hi, I'm Zihao Zheng, a Ph.D. candidate from Department of Statistics, UW-Madison.

Please don't mind, this is my only personal photo

Bio

I am a fifth year Ph.D. student from Department of Statistics, UW-Madison. I am very fortunate to be advised by Prof. Michael A. Newton. I am also fortunate to work with Prof. Miriam A. Shelef. Prior to that, I received Bachelor of Science in School of Mathematics, Beijing Normal University (BNU) in summer 2017. I work as a research intern in Eli Lilly and Company during summer 2020. In Spring 2021, I also work as a data science intern Kuaishou in Dr. Lu Zhang's group.

My Research

Working with Prof. Michael A. Newton and Prof. Miriam A. Shelef, my research interests are broadly in statistics, machine learning and bioinformatics. For details in my research projects, you can visit my page of Project.

Currently, I am particularly interested in the following topics:

  • Large-scale hypothesis testing (my thesis).

  • Methodology and computation frontiers of Empirical Bayes (EB).

  • High density peptide array analysis.

  • Applied statistics and medical informatics, especially in bio-marker identification.

  • Causal inference and experiment design.
