Ph.D. Candidate in Political Science/ M.S. in Statistics (Applied Statistics)
My name is Yehzee Ryoo, and I am a fourth-year Ph.D. student in the Department of Political Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I completed my M.S. degree in Applied Statistics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and I received an M.A. and a B.A. in Political Science and International Relations from Korea University.
My research focuses on international relations and public opinion. Particularly, I study the mutual influence of public opinion and democratic states' foreign policies, spanning from electoral intervention to military operations. I investigate the role of public perception, democratic norms, electoral constraints, and foreign actors in shaping inter-state conflicts.
I received thorough training in political methodology, both within and outside of my graduate courses. This includes training in multi-methods research at the IQMR and quantitative research tools at the ICPSR. My specialization includes text analysis, network analysis, and survey experiments.
