I am an assistant professor of political science at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. I am also a faculty affiliate with the Center for Law, Society, and Justice (CLSJ) and a researcher affiliate with the Institute for Research on Poverty (IRP). I was an Anna Julia Cooper Postdoctoral Fellow (UW-Madison) between 2023 and 2024.
My research focuses on how social disadvantage influences defendant outcomes within the criminal legal system, how institutional design and policy feedback reinforce social disparities within the criminal legal system, and how social and racial inequalities generate policy feedbacks that influence surveillance policies at the state and federal level.
