The Mattering Collective is an intergenerational team of adults and youth concerned with what it means for children, youth, and families of color to matter in schools. Nicole Louie convened the group in 2023. Its first members were Chundou Her, Saron Fenta, and students at Washington Middle School (a pseudonym). Carly Ferguson, Rosanne Luu, Sofia Tancredi, and Siqi Huang joined the Collective in 2024.
