THE MATTERING COLLECTIVE

Our group started with one idea: to make mathematics education better for kids of color and their families, with kids of color and their families as co-researchers and co-designers. The co-design process took us in directions we could never have anticipated, focusing less on math, and more on mattering. In our quest to matter, we conducted interviews and wrote reports. We also found ourselves exploring what we could do with other media, from puppets to poetry, in schools and in research.
