Material Advantage is a program designed for students interested in Materials Science and Engineering. We provide students with access to a wide variety of resources, including scholarships and grants, career development and information, and technical information.
This semester, groups of MSE undergrads have been making monthly treks to attend the ASM-Milwaukee (American Society of Materials) chapter meetings. Attendance of UW-Madison students at these events have led to a variety of unique opportunities such as job interviews, tours of local manufacturing facilities, and corporate sponsorships for a variety of student projects run through the MA-AFS club here on campus. On top of that, it has been a great way to learn from industry professionals and get a glimpse of how their classroom education can be applied to a variety of different real-world materials occupations in the Wisconsin area.
Columbus, Ohio - George and Josh recently embarked on an exciting journey to the heart of materials science and technology at the prestigious Materials Science & Technology conference. The dynamic duo had the privilege of attending the Material Advantage student chapter officer meeting, where they gained invaluable insights into the world of professional material advantage societies.
