Short Bio

I am in the Department of Mathematics.
I also belong to the Institute for Foundations of Data Science and have a secondary affiliation with the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering.

In Fall 2020 I started a tenure track position at UW Madison and was awarded the Nellie McKay Fellowship. Prior to my time at Madison, I had an NSF Postdoc with Jon Hauenstein and was a Provost’s Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of Chicago with Lek-Heng Lim

I did my undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin, where I became a McNair Scholar with Eric Katz as a faculty mentor. After getting a bachelors degree in pure math, I began the PhD program at UC Berkeley. There I was awarded a Chancellor's Fellowship and worked with Bernd Sturmfels, which is how I became interested in applied algebraic geometry.

Here is a link to a talk at the Simons Institute about my thesis work.
