The Department of Medicine Grand Rounds is a weekly multidisciplinary educational series for physicians, advanced practice providers, trainees, students, and others on the interprofessional team. Each session is designed to integrate basic science, clinical research, and contemporary issues into clinical practice.
Grand Rounds is held virtually every Friday from 8:00-9:00 am during the academic year. Speakers should prepare 45 minutes of material and leave 10-15 minutes for a Question-and-Answer session.
CME Credit is awarded for Grand Rounds sessions.
Global Learning Objectives
As a result of participation in this series, members of the healthcare team will be able to:
Incorporate current and updated concepts, new research data and evidence-based guidelines into their clinical practice and research.
Enhance collective capacity to provide collaborative, team-based care in internal medicine and associated sub-specialty areas.
Address factors as access, socioeconomic status, environment, intuitional practices, and bias that underlie racial, ethnic, gender, and/or sexual orientation disparities in health and healthcare.

Conflict of Interest (COI) Disclosure
Every speaker must complete a Conflict of Interest (COI) Disclosure through the UW-Madison ICEP portal in order for their Grand Rounds lecture to be eligible for accredited CE credit. This should be completed at the speaker’s earliest convenience.
Presentation Title and Profile Picture
The title and profile pictures are used by the Department to promote the Grand Rounds lecture. Speakers should send at their earliest convenience to increase awareness of their upcoming presentation.
Learning Objectives and MOC Questions
Speakers must submit a minimum of three learning objectives and three Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Questions and Answers for their presentation.
Speaker CVs are used by the person who introduces the Grand Rounds speaker.
Video Recording Permission Form
Grand Rounds lectures are recorded for future viewing by the Department. Speakers must sign the recording form for their lecture to be recorded.
The Education Committee provides the opportunity for all assistant professors who will present at Grand Rounds to be observed by a faculty member prior to their presentation.
