Read and follow the instructions below. Contact a Bio 152 staff member at the entrance of the hall if you have questions or concerns after reading this entire page.
Arrival
We think it is reasonable to arrive about 10-15 minutes prior to your session start time. As long as you know what you need to do to get setup (see below), we expect each group to be fully ready when the session opens to the public. There is no formal "check-in" process for students, but we take attendance at the session start times by walking the aisles of posters.
Session A start time: 1:00PM
Session B start time: 3:15PM
Session C start time: 5:30PM
You are highly encouraged to only bring what you need for the symposium to Union South. Backpacks and coats will need to be stored in our coatrooms during each session. Leaving extra items at home will speed up your check out process at the end of your session.
Setting up your poster
Using this website, find your poster number. Your session is indicated by an A, B, or C in front of your poster number. The poster number indicates which board you are assigned to within Varsity Hall. Your poster number is also available in column AB of the Student IP Info Sheet.
Grab your poster! Posters are separated by number and are located in the boxes at the front of Varsity Hall. Once you've found your poster, grab four tacks from the tables around the edge of the room and go to your numbered poster board. After Session A, you may also find tacks at your poster board.
Your nametag(s) should be tacked to your board. Put on your nametag and hang your poster.
After you've set up your poster, place all backpacks, coats, etc. in the coatroom (see signage that will be hung up).
During the symposium
The symposium will be open to the public. Please be sure your poster is up, you have your nametag on, and you've placed all belongings in the coatroom by the time your session begins.
You will also present to your peers during the symposium. You are encouraged (and expected) to visit other posters during the symposium. Within any 30-minute period, you should be at your poster for approximately 20 minutes and visiting other posters for 10 minutes.
Feel free to fill up your water bottle, use the restroom, or grab a snack during the symposium. Remember to return to your poster promptly so you don't miss a visit from any guests.
DO NOT pack up your poster before being told to do so at the end of your session. You are expected to attend the entire symposium unless you have received prior approval from a coordinator.
You will need your Student ID for check-out at the end of the symposium. You may then proceed to the coatroom and/or leave Union South. Remember, leaving any unnecessary backpacks, coats, or other bulky belongings at home will speed up your check out process at the end of the session.
