Read and follow the instructions below. Contact a course staff member at the entrance of the hall if you have
questions or concerns after reading this entire page.
When should I arrive?
We think it is reasonable to arrive about 10-15 minutes prior to your session start time. As long as you know what you need to do to get setup (see below), we expect each group to be fully ready when the session opens to the public. There is no formal "check-in" process for students, but we take attendance at the session start times by walking the aisles of posters.
Session A start time: 1:00 PM
Session B start time: 3:15 PM
Session C start time: 5:30 PM
Setting up your poster
Using this website, find your poster number. Your session is indicated by an A, B, or C in front of your poster number.
Grab your poster! Posters are separated by number and are located in the boxes at the front of Varsity Hall. Once you've found your poster, grab four tacks from the tables around the edge of the room and go to your numbered poster board.
Your nametag(s) should be tacked to your board. Put on your nametag and hang up your poster.
After you've set up your poster, place all backpacks, coats, etc. in the coatroom (see signage that will be hung up).
During the symposium
The symposium will be open to the public. Please be sure your poster is up, you have your nametag on, and you've placed all belongings in the coatroom by the time your session begins.
You will also present to your peers during the symposium.
During the first 30 minutes of each session, students with even numbered posters will leave their own posters and talk to the presenters on either side of them about their projects. For example, presenters at poster #12 will walk over and talk to the presenters at posters #11 and #13. Any remaining time during that 30 minutes should be spent looking at other posters in the hall. During this time, all odd numbered presenters should remain at their posters.
During the next 30 minutes, students with odd numbered posters will follow the same process.
During the final 30 minutes of each session, you are free to visit posters you did not have a chance to see earlier and/or speak with visitors to your own posters.
Feel free to fill up your water bottle, use the restroom, or grab a cookie during the symposium. Remember to return to your poster promptly so you don't miss a visit from any guests.
DO NOT pack up your poster before being told to do so at the end of your session. You are expected to attend the entire symposium unless you have received prior approval from a coordinator.
To check-out: swipe your Student ID at one of the laptops that are set up for check-out. Then you can proceed to the coatroom and grab your things.
