All Introductory Biology 152 students conduct a semester-long research project in which they propose a novel research question, work to answer that question, and communicate their findings with a formal scientific paper, presentation, and poster symposium. Students may complete their independent projects by either conducting mentored research with a lab on campus or by conducting a quantitative analysis of publicly available data with classmates. The Fall 2025 poster symposium features about 600 students and nearly 400 projects. We invite you to attend this semester's poster symposium to help us celebrate the incredible accomplishments of our students and learn something new about biology.
The Introductory Biology 152 poster symposium is an exciting event that allows our students to showcase the impressive work they've been doing all semester. Check out this video from the Fall 2021 poster symposium for a quick peek into the event. It is always an exciting experience to which the students bring incredible enthusiasm.
Thank you to our collaborators who help us make the symposium possible!
We are especially thankful for the incredible work of Amy Pigott and her team at Bob's Copy Shop.
