Happy Summer! The Pierce County Fair is almost here (August 13-16), and I know so many of us are working like crazy to finish up projects. As you gear up for the big week, here are a few gentle reminders I like to keep in mind:
It’s all about learning: Ribbons and trophies fade, but the skills and lessons stay with you. Keep an open mind with the judges because they are here to teach.
Have fun: Enjoy showing your projects, working the food stand, eating great fair food, and catching up with friends.
We’re all in this together: Fairs bring out our entire community. Share your 4-H pride and welcome everyone.
Patience is key: Long hours, heat, and stress can happen. Take a breath and remember we are all here for the same reason: to support our kids.
Say thank you: Take a moment to thank the judges, superintendents, buyers, parents, sponsors, and volunteers who make it all happen.
Good luck with your exhibits! I can’t wait to see you all at the fair!
Keep your clover strong. 🍀April
