I am a PhD candidate in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Currently, I am a research assistant in Thevamaran Lab, conducting my graduate research in the field of "Dynamics and Wave Propagation in Hierarchical Metamaterials" under the supervision of Prof. Ramathasan Thevamaran. I earned my Bachelor of Technology in Production and Industrial Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. For my undergraduate thesis project titled "Tunable Bandgaps in Nonlinear Acoustic Metamaterials," I worked in the Multiscale Mechanics and Multiphysics Lab (MMML) at IIT Roorkee. During the summer of 2018, I undertook a research internship at the Microtechnology Laboratory, NTHU Taiwan, under the supervision of Dr. Wei-Chih Wang. In this role, I focused on the development of 3D printed microbolometer focal plane arrays using Inkjet-printing and conducted thermoelectric simulations.
In addition to my graduate research, I have a keen interest in various scientific disciplines, including observational cosmology, particle physics, theoretical physics, geology, and paleontology. Beyond academia, I am a self-proclaimed geek and a passionate science communicator.
My hobbies include beat-boxing, playing the guitar, watching cricket, and traveling.
