Dr Shahla Ali gained her Bachelor of Arts at Stanford before moving on to her research into Arbitration and Dispute Resolution, Law and Development in East Asia, and Globalisation of Law.
Currently, she works as a Professor of Law and the Associate Dean (International) at the University of Hong Kong Faculty of Law. Dr Ali worked on dispute resolution on global stages such as USAID, IFC/World Bank, ADB, AIIB and, most notably, the United Nations.
Regionally, she has served as a member of the Department of Justice’s (HK) Mediation Regulatory Framework Sub-Committee, the HK Financial Dispute Resolution Appointments Committee, as well as numerous other areas.
As a foreign correspondent at The Washington Post for 30 years, Keith Richburg reported on countless significant events such as the Hong Kong Handover, the 2003 Iraq invasion, the fall of the Taliban in Afghanistan, the Rwandan Genocide and many other notable affairs. His journalism and writing have earned him several honours. Gaining his Bachelors of Arts at the University of Michigan and later his Masters of Arts at LSE, He also taught at prestigious American universities such as Princeton, and Harvard
While living in Hong Kong, he acted as the Director of the Journalism and Media Studies Centre at the University of Hong Kong from 2016 - 2023. He was also the president of the Foreign Correspondents’ Club, Hong Kong, during the handover and reprised the role during the Pandemic.
Anne Copeland has dedicated her 35-year career to furthering sustainability. She helps companies and the financial sector adopt environmental, social and governance (ESG) best practices through her company, Copeland & Partners. Anne’s expertise focuses on providing strategic guidance about programme implementation, reporting and training. She has engaged with stakeholders in the public and private sectors as well as non-governmental organisations in Asia, Europe and North America. She is active in the Hong Kong community through the Canadian Chamber (Board of Directors, Women’s Network co-chair and co-founder of its SD Committee), The Women’s Foundation and as a founding member of the HKSAR SD Council's Strategy Sub-committee and the GRI Stakeholder Council.
