SUMMER SCHOOL PROGRAMMING 2019

Third Grade Reading Guarantee

This class is designed for students who may be retained unless they successfully complete the requirements of the 3rd Grade Reading Guarantee. Strategies will focus on increasing reading skills above minimum expectations. Students will work to build their fluency and comprehension skills to become proficient readers. The session will be taught by highly qualified reading teachers.

June 4, 2018 - July 10, 2019 (Includes Required Testing Days on July 8, 9 and 10)

  • Breakfast Served (8:15am - 8:30am) / Class: 8:30a - 11:30a / Lunch: 11:30a - 12:00p

All students are required to take the Ohio State test in Reading and will also have an additional opportunity to meet the requirements of the 3rd Grade Reading Guarantee via the MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) test. This test is a qualifying test to meet the requirements of the 3rd Grade Reading Guarantee. Students in the program are expected to take both assessments.

ENGLISH language PROGRAM

WHO CAN ATTEND? Qualifying students entering 3rd Grade through 5th Grade in August 2019. Only students accepted into the program may attend. Mrs. Alloway's 3rd grade class will be testing on July 8-10, 2019. The last day for all students will be on July 10, 2019.

SCIENCE SUMMER CAMP

WHO CAN ATTEND? Students entering 5th grade this 2019-2020 school year. The MAGIS Summer Bridge Science Program is designed to support current students in Science for continued success in 5th grade using our 5th grade National Geographic curriculum. It is taught by Mr. Sean Darks, the Winton Woods Elementary Sceince Lab instructor, using our engaging and interactive curriculum.
