This lesson design is to support students researching , paraphrasing, citing evidence, thesis writing, and development of informational writing.  The design is adapted to your students needs.  When starting Mini-Reports it is suggested that there is heavy modeling happening and then the teacher pulls the support away whenever possible.  Here are examples of the design that I used in my class.  I tried to complete this activity in one period, so I used videos at times instead of text.
