Meet Lisa Hazirjian
Lisa Hazirjian founded Win Together Consulting to help nonprofits, campaigns, and social justice organizations develop strategy, build power, engage supporters, and leverage strengths to achieve progressive goals.
Lisa's consulting practice draws upon her experience as the founding Executive Director of the North Carolina AIDS Action Network and as a successful community organizer with expertise in campaign strategy, supporter base building and engagement, and grassroots leadership development. Her training as a historian of modern U.S. social movements, public policy, and political culture invest her with an extraordinary ability to understand how the choices we make in the here and now can help us build greater power to achieve our goals down the road - in essence, how to write the history of the future we seek.
Lisa has worked on a range of issues including voting rights, LGBTQ+ equality, early childhood education, environmental justice, access to health care, housing affordability, and workers' rights - as well as on local, statewide, and national political campaigns. Three core beliefs define her approach to all her work:
Effective social justice movements and campaigns support the desires of everyday people to participate in meaningful ways in advancing their cause at whatever level of engagement works for them;
For us to achieve our desired outcomes, we need to adopt strategies, tactics and practices that build our movements for the long haul while doing what we can to secure the immediate wins we seek together;
We need to live by our professed values and hold one another accountable with grace, extending support to one another when any of us stumble.
Lisa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy Studies, Graduate Certificate in Women’s Studies, and Ph.D. in U.S. History from Duke University. Most recently, she has studied with Marshall Ganz, earning certificates of completion for Public Narrative and Leadership, Organizing and Action: Leading Change from the John F. Kennedy School of Government Executive Education Program at Harvard University.
