PHILOSOPHY:
My classroom is where every student can feel safe expressing themselves. My rules and routine are well defined, my expectations are clear and my curriculum allows all students, of all ages, to participate without judgment. Our goal is not only to be creative but also to understand how art impacts our lives and the lives of others.
We will be exploring the Elements of Art, Principles of Design, and a variety of Art Media and Techniques, both together and individually throughout the year. While exploring art, we are also continuously working on developmental and academic skills. While our younger students will be practicing their fine motor skills and observational skills, older students will be fine-tuning them.
I truly believe that each student, in one way or another, is an artist, and I strongly encourage them to make that discovery and run with it (or should I say, "create" with it).
