SO WHAT'S UP WITH  MATH???

Hi,

I thought that I would give you a little insight about what we are going to learn this year in all my Math classes this school year..  I know that some of you would like to see a YOUTUBE video and have me explain it, BUT,  I decided that between my old face and my Connecticut accent that the written explanation would be better.

My goals are:

           a.  Teach the core topics of Pre-Calculus.  This include: Equations and Inequalities, Polynomial and Rational Function ,Exponential and Logarithmic Functions, Trigonomtric functions and their graphes and Conic Sections.  Other Math topics may be covered depending on our ability to complete the core curriculum.

b.  Teach the core topics of Geometry: This includes: Lines, segement, planes(ones that don't fly), Triangles, Quadrilaterials, Postuales and Theorems and practical Trigonometry.

 c.  Apply these topics to practical use when appropriate.   I approach this part based on class make-up and interest.  I will tell you that I have many stories, which I will share throughout the year, which will meet this goal.

d.  Help organize your notes.   Each student now knows that they may use any notes during tests and quizzes. My tests and quizzes may be a little tougher than what you are used to, but with good notes it should not deter you from earning a good grade.  Also these assessments may have a time limit and some might even be homework assignment.

e.   Gain confidence in your Math ability. I don't think this needs any explaination.

Finally, I want to make one thing perfectly clear:   I WANT YOU TO ENJOY MATH!
