Hi! I am Val Ilao and I will be serving as your Winterpock PTA President for the 2025-2026 school year! This will be my second year serving on the Winterpock PTA board and have been volunteering at WPES for the past few years prior. I am a mom of 1 very active WPES Wolf, Ronin (4th grade) and 1 future Wolf, Riley (4yo). Outside of PTA, I work full time and also am a chauffeur for all the kids' activities. I am excited for what our PTA can accomplish this year for our students and staff! Thank you for all your support! 

My name is Rachel Viken, and this is my first year serving on the Winterpock PTA Board. I have served on the PTA on many different committees prior to taking on this new position. My family moved here 2 years ago from Texas, for my husband’s job. We have a 4th grader and 6th grader going to Deep Creek. Our weekends are full of baseball and cheer and we like exploring the area as everything in Virginia is new to us! I am excited for this year and supporting our teachers and students.

My name is Allie Murray, and I’m so excited to be serving as this year’s Vice President of Programs for the Winterpock Elementary PTA. I’m the proud mom of three kids, including a 3rd grader and a 1st grader here at Winterpock. I’m looking forward to supporting our amazing students and staff throughout the year.

Hi! My name is Chantel Gant, and I’m a proud wife and mother of two amazing kids at Winterpock Elementary School. Originally from South Carolina, my family and I relocated to Virginia three years ago for my husband’s job, and we’ve been happy to call this community home ever since.

Professionally, I work full-time as a Care Coordinator for a hospital system, where I support patients and their families by coordinating care plans, scheduling follow ups and helping to connect them with necessary medical and community resources. In my free time, I enjoy traveling with family and friends, and I have a passion for planning parties and hosting gatherings.

I chose to volunteer for the PTA because I believe in being a strong advocate not just for my own children, but for all students. I’m excited to work with other parents, teachers, and staff to help create a positive and enriching school experience for every child at Winterpock Elementary School.

Hi! I am Jessica Anderson and I will be serving as your Winterpock PTA VP of Fundraising for the 2025-2026 school year! This will be my first year serving on the Winterpock PTA board. Previously, I volunteered at WPES for two years. I am a mom of 2 girls. Sophia is currently a part of the Wolfpack (2nd grade), and Gianna is excited to join the pack in a year! Outside of PTA, I work full time in marketing. I am super excited to join the PTA board and look forward to supporting our Wolfpack community.

Hi! I’m Brooke Scarsella and this is my first year serving on the Winterpock PTA board as your Recording Secretary. I have 4 kids attending Winterpock this year in grades K, 2nd, 4th, & 5th.

Our family joined the Winterpock community just last year, and I truly appreciated the many opportunities the PTA provided for parents to get involved and stay connected.

Outside of the PTA, I work as a Lead Preschool Teacher for the 4s class at WUMP. I’m looking forward to supporting our amazing teachers, students, and families through my role on the board this year!

Hi, I am LeAnn Gunther and will be this year’s Communication secretary. I have one student at Winterpock this year in the 4th grade and two at Deep Creek Middle School. I have served on the board in various roles over the past five years. I am excited for another great school year supporting our teachers and students!
