End of School Year Medication Pick-Up

It is the end of the school year and time to be making plans for picking up your child’s remaining medication. The nurses are gone for the summer so this will need to be done by student dismissal on the last day of school. If this is not possible, please contact your school nurse so other arrangements can be made.

The Winfield R-IV School District’s goal is to always be thinking about the safety and security of the children. With this in mind, students will not be allowed to bring their medication home at the end of the year. We are asking that parents come by school and pick up the medicine personally. If you would like to send another adult instead, please notify the school of who that individual will be. Finally, if you do not want the leftover medication, let the school nurse know and she will dispose of it properly.

Our goal, by sending this letter out early, is to allow you to make the necessary arrangements for picking up your child’s medication. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter. If you have any questions feel free to contact your school nurse. We wish you a fun and relaxing summer and look forward to seeing you next year.

When should your student stay home?

If you are on the fence on if your child should be at school, call the doctor for advice. You can always bring them in late if the doctor says they are good to come. Overall, we want all the children to be at school, but not at the expense of anyone's health.
