  1. How do I meet with the school counselor?

    1. You can meet with me by calling my direct line (814) 467-4567 ext. 207 or by emailing me at kjohnson@windberschools.org and scheduling an appointment. When scheduling this appointment, we can determine if any teachers or other faculty members should be present.

  2. Why does my child need to meet with the school counselor?

    1. Students often choose to speak with the school counselor because they have a specific issue they need help resolving or they just need someone to talk to. There are various reasons why your child may want to talk to me. Some of these reasons may be academic (like organization or time management), career (like exploring options), or social/emotional (friendships, anxiety/stress, anger, or self-esteem) related.

  3. How do I refer my child to the school counselor?

    1. Please fill out the referral form to refer your child to see me. This form and the directions to obtain it are located under the tab "Referral Form". Once I receive the form, I will try to meet with your child as soon as possible.

  4. Who may refer my child to the school counselor?

    1. Your child may be referred by teachers/support staff, parents/guardians, the school nurse, administrators, friends, or themselves.
