ELA: Review of previously taught skills plus comprehension and inferencing
Writing: Informative writing

Math:
Place Value – Understand that two-digit numbers are made up of tens and ones.
Number Comparison – Compare two-digit numbers by looking at the value of the digits.
Graphs & Data – Read and create simple graphs to organize and understand information.
Addition & Subtraction (within 20) – Use different strategies to solve math problems up to 20.
Measuring Length – Measure and compare objects using everyday (nonstandard) items.
Multi-Step Problems – Solve word problems by adding three numbers with a total of 20 or less.
Find the Missing Number – Use strategies to figure out missing numbers in addition or subtraction problems.
Science : Recognize the features and patterns of the earth/moon/sun system as
observed from Earth.
3rd Quarter
ELA: Review of previously taught skills plus comprehension skills, compare and contrast, and text elements.
Writing : Narrative writing

Math:
Place Value - Understand that two-digit numbers are made up of tens and ones.
Number Comparison - Compare two-digit numbers by looking at the value of the tens and ones.
Graphs and Data - Read and create simple graphs to understand and show information.
Addition and Subtraction to 20 - Solve basic addition and subtraction problems up to 20 using different strategies (like counting on, using fingers, or drawing).
Measuring with Everyday Objects - Measure and compare lengths using items like paper clips or blocks.
Word Problems with Three Numbers - Solve simple word problems by adding three numbers that total 20 or less.
Finding Missing Numbers - Use different strategies to figure out missing numbers in addition or subtraction problems (e.g., 7 + ___ = 10)
Science : Understand the basic needs of a variety of plants and animals in different ecosystems. Understand the physical properties of Earth materials.
4th Quarter
ELA: Review of previously taught skills, fluency with comprehension , and fact and opinion.
Writing : Opinion writing
S.S. : Goods, Services, and Smart Choices
Math :
Tell and write time to the hour and half-hour using both analog and digital clocks.
Add and subtract numbers up to 20 using different strategies.
Identify quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies, and understand their values.
Practice and review skills learned earlier.
Science : Understand that natural resources are important to humans.
