MEET THE IB TEACHERS

Mrs. Angela London

IB English

  • AA from Peace

  • BA from North Carolina State University

  • Masters from Concordia, Oregon

  • National Board Certification

  • 25 years teaching experience

  • Enjoys reading, watching movies, and anything to do with food (eating or cooking)

  • I have been married for 27 years. I have two boys, ages 26 and 19. I also have two girls, ages 23 and 9.

  • With IB, I love the critical-thinking and global aspect mixed with rich content and mature academic discourse. I like that students have to think outside of their circle and look at how local actions impact global situations. It's great preparation for life beyond high school. The program is well-rounded, covering all subjects, personal growth opportunities, and community involvement.

Mrs. LaDonna Mangum

IB Biology

  • BS in Environmental Science/ Geography from UNCW

  • Masters in Science Education from ECU

  • National Board Certification

  • 20 years teaching experience

  • Enjoys CrossFit, reading, shopping, and taking naps

  • I have been married to Luke for 19 years and we have two children. Clark will be with me at Fike as a freshman and Lilly is in the 5th grade at New Hope. I am originally from Beaufort, NC but I met my husband in college and he brought me here. That's what you will do for love! I never wanted to be a teacher, I actually went to school to be an environmental scientist but I fell into teaching and fell in love. I can't image what I would do if I wasn't teaching, well being a rich housewife would be great but that doesn't seem to be working out.

  • I love the content! It's just nice to be able to dig deep into biology. I also love being with the kids for two years.

Mrs. Carrie Maravi

IB Psychology/TOK

  • BS in Hispanic Studies from ECU

  • 15 Years Teaching Experience

  • Enjoys jogging, painting, and traveling with family

  • Married to Daniel, who loves to coach soccer

  • Sons are Andres and Perry who both love music, soccer, and taekwondo

  • As a former IB student, I understand the pressure that our students face. I have experienced the journey that they are on and I reaped the benefits that they will earn upon completion of the program. The way the program shaped my perspective continues to be a blessing to me two decades later. The TOK class is truly the highlight of the curriculum and it is the best class I’ve ever taken (or taught).
