COVID 19 Time Capsule Directions

What is a time capsule? It is a container that is filled with things (such as newspapers, or clothing) from the present time, put in a safe place, and that is meant to be opened at some time in the future.

*Find a shoe box or other container in which you will place your completed time capsule. You may decorate it anyway you like.

* If you cannot download and print the time capsule booklet, you can create one on plain paper that you have at home or stop by school for a paper copy.

Week of April 20: Color the title page and print your name at the bottom.

Complete page 2: You are living through history right now. Post pictures of your completed pages to your teacher's Class Dojo or Google Classroom.

Week of April 27: Complete and color page 3: All about me. Post pictures of your completed pages to your teacher's Class Dojo or Google Classroom.

Week of May 4: Complete and color page 4: How I’m feeling.

Complete and color page 5: My community

Post pictures of your completed pages to your teacher's Class Dojo or Google Classroom.

Week of May 11: Complete and color page 6: You are not stuck at home, you are safe at home!

Complete page 7: Our hand-prints. Use washable paints if available, otherwise trace each person’s hand with a different color pencil, marker, or crayon. Post pictures of your completed pages to your teacher's Class Dojo or Google Classroom.

Week of May 18: Complete and color page 8: Special occasions.

Complete page 9: Letter to myself - include what is happening to you and around you.

Post pictures of your completed pages to your teacher's Class Dojo or Google Classroom.

Week of May 25: Complete page 10: Interview your household - ask each person in your home at least one question.

Complete page 11: Letter from your household - you can use info from page 10 and/or ask people in your household what they would like to say. To whom will you write your letter? Your family? Your community? The earth? The world?

Post pictures of your completed pages to your teacher's Class Dojo or Google Classroom.

Congratulations! You have completed your time capsule activity! Make any finishing touches, staple or paperclip the pages, and put it away in a safe place until the day you decide to open it.
