Students will undertake the writing process in multiple forms, including Narrative, Informative, Argumentative, and Literary Analysis (5-paragraph essay), in order to sharpen their skills to prepare them for high school. Students will bolster their knowledge of basic grammar concepts in order to enhance their writing.

Students will read and analyze a variety of literature, across many genres such as short stories, novels, poetry, drama, and nonfiction. Students will be able to identify and describe many literary elements and devices, citing textual evidence.
