About Me

Hi, my name is Ryan Gibble! I have been teaching for 14  years, and this is my third  year teaching Social Studies here at WAAS. I began my journey in education at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, earning two bachelor’s degrees in both elementary education and history. I have Master’s Degrees in education and history and a license to teach gifted students here in the great state of North Carolina. In the summer, I teach for the Center for Talented Youth (CTY) at John Hopkins University. My favorite thing to do is travel. I have hiked Machu Picchu in Peru, stood on the Great Wall of China, and rode a camel through the deserts of Morocco. This year I am looking forward to exploring the Pyramids in Egypt. When I am not teaching or traveling abroad, you can most likely find me at the beach, and during the cool fall days you can bet I am cheering on my favorite football team, the Carolina Panthers. I consider myself one of the biggest Star Wars fans. Family also plays a special role in my life.
